VL38 wall lamp from Louis Poulsen delivers direct and focused light, making it well-suited as a reading light. The shade has a white lacquered inside that provides a pleasant diffusion of light. It also features an adjustable shade to further optimize light distribution. The VL38 wall lamp is based on the original table lamp in the same series, designed in the late 1930s by Vilhelm Lauritzen in collaboration with Louis Poulsen for the construction of the Radiohouse in Copenhagen. The current version embraces modern advancements in lighting technology and energy efficiency with an integrated LED light source while maintaining its retro look. The lamp has a timer function for automatic shutdown after four or eight hours. It also has a practical dimming function where you can choose between a stronger or a softer light intensity depending on the occasion. The brass surfaces are untreated and will over time develop a beautiful patina. Consider combining it with the table lamp and floor lamp in the VL38 series.
